| Description of Palmtree house: |
This sweet and cosy little house is located on 1 of the best spots of the old village of Lahania. It’s built in the old traditional Greek style, with full respect of the past. The style of this house (inside and out) is a warm and cosy one and it’s the perfect place for a romantic stay for 2 or 3. In the courtyard -with a large palm, oleander, rosemary and other flowering plants- you can sit and talk all day, moving to the roof terrace at night to look at the best sunset you’ve probably ever seen!

Lahania
Two plane trees, four water troughs, six tables... and undisturbed peace and quietness. Around you are the low white houses of the village with their blue doors and windows, their tile roofs and carved stone gateways. This is perhaps the most beautiful village on Rhodes and a total surprise for any visitor who is willing to go wander down into the village - a picture postcard setting, a scene of absolute tranquillity and harmony. Some of the well-maintained traditional houses have been bought by foreigners or else by people from the town of Rhodes who are discriminating enough to appreciate the village and have settled here, creating a youthful and artistic community. The traditional café under the plane tree in the beautiful village square offers cool shade throughout the day. One can take water from the natural running spring which is an old Turkish system of irrigation channels. The village church is there, as is the Platanos café which is by far the prettiest place to sit, eat, drink and chat. Young kids will play for hours in the water and chase the pet ducks. Around the village there are plenty of beautiful places to explore up and down the river valley with some spectacular views if you are prepared to hike a little. The village square was used for filming a number of scenes for the 1989 movie ''High Season of forty'' (with Jacqueline Bisset and Irene Papa). There is another café on the road, the café of the priest, which is less picturesque but where there is interesting conversation and a chance to eat the wonderful real home made food from the priests wife. Opposite of this priest’ café is café Blue Horizon, which is more a café where one can drink something accompanied with a small mezze. The owners of this café, are the ones that are exploiting the local hotel of Lahania.
Thanks to its proximity to Prasonisi, Lahania attracts many keen surfers. The village resort is a peaceful place with some nice restaurants. Along the coastlines, which is in a walking distance are virgin sands. Lahania only began to be developed relatively recently, and the main coastal road along the beach is lined with beautiful villas belonging to people from Rhodes. If you are looking for some adventure, seek for the many unexplored beaches stretching along the sandy shore from Lahania to Prasonisi - among the last unspoiled stretches of coastline left on Rhodes.
