Rakitnika is situated right on the coast just south of Galata in the Varna region. The village has a traditional rural Bulgarian vista but also offers modern and multi national cuisine in its small, secluded bar restaurants. The beach area is quiet and clean, the forests provide very nice walking and wildlife abounds. Local shopping is very good and will provide most day to day requirements, Varna is close by car or bus. In Varna you have museums, palaces, sea parks and a very modern pavement cafe culture that would seem at home in Paris. The cost of living is rising but is still very, very cheap compared to UK and other EU countries. Food is excellent, very fresh and tasty. Beer & wine also very inexpensive.
