More information on St. Ouen Le Pin

Le Clos Fleuri is located between Caen and Lisieux, less than an hours drive from the port of Le Havre and Ouistreham.

Situated close to Route N13 makes it easy to go in any direction to visit this interesting area. The city of Caen is under an hour away. Having been largely rebuilt after the Second World War, there is a mix of old and new, with the old being mainly in the centre. There is a good market on Sundays. The Memorial on the outskirts is well worth a days visit too.
Lisieux, approximately 10 minutes drive away, has many restaurants, cafes, shops and the impressive Basilica on the hill. There is an excellent market on every Saturday.

To the south, approximately 25 miles, is Falaise, birthplace of William the Conqueror. Pont l’Eveque, about 15 miles away, is an interesting town famous for its cheese, and with a Calvados distillery. The market here is on Mondays.

There is plenty to do on the north coast, whether it’s laying on the good quality beaches or remembering the D-Day landings (with its well kept military cemeteries), or maybe a coffee in one of the many interesting towns and villages.

Bayeux is well worth a visit for more than its famous tapestry. Pegasus Bridge and Arromanches with the remnants of the Mulberry Harbour are in the same area.

The wealthy towns Deauville and Trouville sit either side of the River Touques as it meets the sea. Both of these towns have their share of restaurants, cafes and shops and each have excellent beaches as well as a grand casino.

A particular favourite is Honfleur a few miles to the east of Trouville. Honfleur is a lovely old fishing port with lots of character and charm. It is very popular with both the French and the British alike, and a must if you are an art connoisseur.

Closer to us we have some interesting villages, the nearest of which has a grocer, butcher, baker, two cafes, restaurant, pharmacy and a tourist information office. Le Clos Fleuri is also near the Route du Cidre where the farmers make cider, calvados and pommeau and would welcome you to try their wares.

There is plenty to do for the young and old alike, whether it is visiting the memorials, dining out, fishing, golf or shopping. There is an excellent zoo near Lisieux, not to mention a swimming pool, cinema, bowling etc.

If you feel like going further a field, Disney Land Paris is within 2.5 hours drive and with easy access via the generally quiet French motorways.
