Casa Azahara is a beautifully renovated traditional townhouse located in the heart of the white village of Competa, which now offers ensuite rooms to let in the main house and a private one bedroom apartment accessed through two internal courtyards.
Casa Azahara is located in a small street just off the main square (Plaza Almijara) of Competa and is ideally situated for visiting the many excellent bars and restaurants, yet still remains peaceful within.
All ensuite rooms are in traditional Andalucian style, have tea/coffee making facilities and are let on a room only basis.
The pretty selfcatering apartment is accessed from a sunny courtyard with table and chairs and has a large twin bedroom, shower room with sink and WC, fully equipped kitchen and cosy livingroom with TV/DVD.
Guests have access throughout the summer to the pool and sunloungers at the Hotel Balcon de Competa just five minutes walk from Casa Azahara. (entry fee)

Competa is a stunning white mountain village located 650 metres above sea level on the slopes of the Sierra Almijara Natural Park in the beautiful Axarquia region of Andalucia. The village is a haven for lovers of the outdoors and those who appreciate the Spanish way of life. It is famous for its locally produced sweet tasting Competa wine and for the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and down to the Mediterranean coast.
Competa is fascinating to explore with its labyrinth of cobbled narrow streets and has a wealth of excellent bars and restaurants to try. The main square Plaza Almijara, is a stones throw from Casa Azahara and is a perfect place to relax in the sun and watch the world go by.
For those who prefer a bit of excitement, horseriding, motocross, quadbiking and paragliding are all available in the Sierras behind Competa. For the less daring, guided walks, mountainbiking, tennis and painting courses.
Just over an hours drive from Malaga Airport and a twenty minute to the coast, Competa is perfectly situated for a relaxing (or not!)holiday in a whitewashed village within easy reach of Granada, Seville, Cordoba and the beaches of the Costa del Sol.
