More information on Denia
|
Denia is famous for its white sand beaches (20 km long), but also for its protected rock-beaches on the other side of town (Las Rotas). It also has a rich gastronomy, with plenty of sea-food and paella type of dishes.
Denia is a touristical place on the Costa Blanca, but fortunately has never wanted to invest in mass-tourism like Benidorm or other places. (Hence tall buildings are still not allowed in Denia.)
There are plenty of activities in the area. Beautiful walks, either along the beaches, or either on the closeby mountain ''el Montgó'', a protected natural park with stunning views. (The highest mountain in Spain that close to the sea by the way.)
Denia is situated in ''La Marina Alta'', an area at the Costa Blanca with particular mild climate all year around, protected by the mountain chains.
There is also a direct ferry to the Balearic islands (Ibiza etc.), as the town is situated on the closest point of the mainland towards the islands. Ideally for a day-excursion.
