Javea on the Costa Blanca is around 90kms north of the large International Airport at Alicante and slightly further from Valencia Airport.
In sharp contrast to its Costa Blanca neighbors of Alicante and Benidorm, Javea is a small Spanish town that is without any high rise buildings and thumping nightlife.
With such great year long weather Javea offers a perfect holiday destination for those of you seeking sandy beaches that are surrounded by open mountain areas.
With on of the most picturesque ports on the Costa Blanca, Javea is home to its own fishing fleet and the sports marina has around 300 berths for yachts, motor boats and power boats.
At the marina you are able to book or indulge in all kinds of water sports including windsurfing, sailing, diving and of course fishing.
For the golfers head to the Javea Golf Club that can be found in orange and pine groves on the outskirts of the town. Although only a nine hole course it provides a good enough challenge and has over 34 bunkers to hamper your play!
For the main tourist area of Javea head to Arenal Beach which is a wonderful sandy bay complete with children’s play areas and a promenade that is flanked by palm trees and that Spanish favorite, pavement cafes.
Here you will also find a fine collection of restaurants serving all types of food as well as the local “Paella” and some superbly cooked and prepared seafood. After eating you can wander through the shops and boutiques that are open well into the night during peak seasons.
Javea is the perfect place for a relaxing break but it is also a great base exploring the Costa Blanca and as it is so far from the main Airports it is sensible to organize Car hire in advance
