Whilst close to the resorts many amenities, the chalet is situated in a quiet location on the edge of a pine forest, behind the Hotel Moura with the nearest supermarket only 1 minute stroll away

As well as skiing BOROVETS offers scores of scenic walking routes, by experienced guides. The organised trips lead to picturesque spots in the Rila Mountain like Seven Rila Lakes, peak Malyovitsa, peak Moussala, etc. A photo Safari and a visit to the Bulgarian kings' residence of Bistritsa are also regularly organized. Various trips to different tourist attractions throughout Bulgaria are offered as well.
BOROVETS also offers a large choice of night-life opportunities with its many night clubs, bars and discos. The ski carnivals are real fiestas for the guests of the resort, and the ski evenings when the ski certificates are awarded are remembered for a long time.
The Rila Mountains - nr Sofia region Borovets is the oldest international and most popular mountain resort in Bulgaria. It is located at 1350 above the sea level (with highest pistes at 2600 m), on the Northern slopes of Rila mountain among age-old pine woods, at the foot of Mousala peak (2925 m) the highest one on the Balkan peninsula. Borovets is easily accessible, being at a distance of only 70 km from Sofia (the capital of Bulgaria) and 126 km from Plovdiv.
Established at the end of the 19th century as a hunting place for the Bulgarian kings, BOROVETS gradually developed into a modern ski resort of high class and luxury hotels, haute-cuisine restaurants and the varied leisure-time entertainment opportunities besides an excellent network of ski runs and lifts along the slopes of the Rila Mountain.
Skiing There are available ski runs for beginners, intermediates and advanced skiers, designed with international markings and multilingual signs. Pistes are bashed and maintained to the high standard. The ski runs of Borovets are located in three different regions. Cross-country and biathlon tracks are located 2 km away from the resort together with the cross-country tuition tracks. Borovets ski centre is serviced by well organised lift system, inclusive Gondola lift. 8 snow cannons for artificial snow are installed to guarantee the snow cover if needed. The Borovets ski school has been known as one of the best in Bulgaria. There are more than 200 ski instructors fluent in foreign languages and some of them are former professional skiers.
Apres Ski Borovets is full of bars, cafes, night clubs, discos. The night life is excellent at this resort (Buzz bar, Mamacitas, Bonkers disco, etc). This resort is known as the most interesting ski centre regarding party time. Its been catering for foreign tourists for many years now, the staff are known to be friendly and professional. Most of the places work till the early morning, and offer good prices and special 'happy hour' discounts Music played is mostly international dance music. Very often special shows are presented at the clubs. There are available restaurants and taverns with Bulgarian national folk music and 'horo' dancing, which some people find very interesting.
Places to go We would certainly recommend the world famous Rila Monastery or the busy city of Sofia for sightseeing or shopping
