Nerja is often described as the jewel of the Costa del Sol and justifiably so. The town has managed to retain much of its original character with development restricted to low-rise Andalucian style buildings. The palm-lined promenade of the Balcón de Europa is a wonderful place for an evening stroll. This famous promenade juts out into the cobalt-blue Mediterranean affording spectacular views along the coast and towards to Sierra de Almijara mountain range. The old town is still typically Andalucian which narrow white-washed streets bursting with colourful flowers. There are plenty of mouth-watering options when it comes to food and drink, with many traditional bars still serving tapas with every drink you order. When it comes to beaches Nerja has plenty for you to choose from and should you decide to explore the wonderful cities of Granada, Sevilla and Cordoba are all within easy reach. Whatever you want from a holiday Nerja is a wonderful place to stay!
