Quillan is a small to medium size town in the south west of France nested in the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains. With a population of under five thousand the town maintains some of the charm of a small village while its location as a hub to explore the surrounding areas gives it the amenities you might expect of a much larger town i.e. Shops, restaurants, bars, swimming pool and cinema to name but a few. The location and the fact that the Aude River runs through town mean many adventure activities are accessible either in the town or within a very short distance.
Quillan is within a 45 minute drive of Carcassone Airport and medieval town and other airports such as Perpignan, Toulouse, Gerona (Spain) are within a two and a half hour drive. The nearest SKI resort is Camurac a 35-40 minute drive other Ski resorts Mijanes-Donezan, Pulvalador, Formigueres are close to an hours drive away and within one and a half hours are some of the larger resorts like Les Angles and Font-Romeu. All this and you are still a little over an hours drive away the Mediterranean coast and its beaches.
