Our house in the hills inland from the interesting city of MALAGA (a.o. native city of the famous artist Pablo Picasso, with the Picasso museum) would be the perfect residence for those who value peace, beautiful nature and breathtaking landscapes and vistas. The villa, of which the Studio is a part, was recently built and has been in use since 2006. This area, the AXARQUÍA and the nature reserve ''Montes de Malaga'' is very popular with nature lovers and those who like peaceful surroundings but also daytrippers from the coast like to visit this area because of its beauty, typical white Spanish villages and dramatic landscapes with a high ''WOW!''-factor. This is the genuine Spain! Although you can perfectly spend the day just being lazy, reading or sunbathing, this is a paradise for active people who like walking, horseback riding, touring etc. Suitable for both easygoing people as well as the more adventurous type. All facilities can be found in the villages in the surroundings. But it is also a big advantage that the coast can be reached within half an hour, making all facilities it has to offer like shopping, beaches and the like within easy reach. For those who find the coast too busy or touristic, this hide out can be the perfect place to recharge from your busy day to day life.
The villa and studio are situated on a plot of 3000m2, close to the historic white village of Comares. This village in itself is well worth a visit because of its typical architecture and its positioning high on the rocks, creating wunderful views of the surroundings and towards the Mediterranian Sea. You can reach Comares via an easy to drive road in one hour from Malaga Airport. In the last minute of the stretch a dirttrack leads you towards the house where you have a private parkingspot. Within 30 min. drivingtime the beachtown of Torre del Mar can be reached. From there the city of Nerja (with its famous caves and the ''Balcony of Europe'') is only a short drive. This is the eastern part of the Costa del Sol. Cities like Cordoba and Sevilla can be visited as a daytrip. De beautiful, old moorish town of Granada can be reached in less than 1,5 hours, here a visit to the ''Alhambra'' is a must do! The fantastic mountains of the Sierra Nevada with in winter the skiing resort of Sol y Nieve (sun and snow) can also be reached easily. Next day you could be lying on one of the beaches, or visiting one of the natural reserves in the area, or driving the ''Olive-route'' or one of the other car-, walking- or bicycletours in the area. A reliable car can be rented for surprisingly low prices starting at ... Pouns a week all inclusive, a small size car will do for the roads through the hills (Check out our ''Links'' for some cheap adresses) and mountainbikes can be rented with us optionally.
