Divine, this is the adjective mostly used to describe the Amalfi Coast, wich starts in Positano and ends at Vietri sul Mare. Growing amongs the rocks flowers the most varied and coloured fauna, wich blends in beautifully with the intense blue of the sea.
Small villages and houses dotted around are surrounded by cultivated terraces. Heaving with history, it is still possible to voyage through the small alleyways and country lanes of the beautiful coastline.
Maiori is the perfect place for a holiday, notonly for its wonderful climate but also for the fact that it has the longest beach along the whole of the Amalfi Coast. In the past it was one of the most visited areas by many famous artists and printers. Today Maiori represents one of the ''pearls'' of turism on the Amalfi Coast.
Its original name came from its river ''Reghinna'', but it was changed to ''Major'' to distingush it from the nearby town of ''Minori''
